EXPERIENCE: Structures Of Self
Structures of Self began as an exploration of how identity is shaped by both inner form and outer connection. I drew from the Gurunsi architecture of my roots, walls patterned with memory, structures built communally and translated that into fashion, music, and exhibition experience.
At Front/Back, the idea came alive in a single night: the runway replaced by DJs styled in Koffi Maako, performing 15-minute sets in rotation. Music became movement, the body became architecture, and the crowd became part of the structure.
The story continued at Palm Moments. For a month, we extended the experience: a concept store where people could live inside Koffi Maako’s world, from clothing to furniture, shoes, and objects. The installation became both gallery and home, a space where our one-of-one and limited pieces carried the same energy of continuity and evolution.

Silhouettes: Structured yet fluid, echoing architecture while remaining wearable.
Fabrics: One-of-one textiles, batiks, and curated commercial cloths - each piece singular, each part of the whole.
Mood: A living installation. At Front/Back, a moment of eruption. At Palm Moments, a continuation - slower, longer, but equally immersive.
