The Archive Kollection
Presented at Glitz Africa Fashion Week (Sustainable Shows) in 2022, this collection was not conceived in a single season, it was the sum of years of experiments. From 2018 to 2022, I explored shapes, structures, colors, and motifs, piecing together fragments of my design education outside the classroom. What came to the runway was a living archive: the story of my growth in fabric and form.
CULTURAL REFERENCES
Kaba and slit: reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, honoring Akan traditions while reshaping them for a modern audience.
Handmade batiks and tie-dyes: ongoing experiments with Ghanaian textile traditions, layered into my practice.
Modern African youth: the spirit of resourcefulness, play, and cultural remixing that defines our generation.
DESIGN NOTES
Fabric: A mix of handmade textiles with commercial fabrics like denim, bridging tradition and the global present.
Silhouettes: Shaped by constant experimentation - from rigid lines to fluid forms, all pointing toward identity in motion.
Mood: Evolution. A designer in dialogue with himself, asking what clothing can mean, how it can carry memory, and how it can be reimagined.
